London Marathon : The marathon has raised £1bn since the event started in 1981, according to race sponsors Virgin Money. Sir Andy Murray will be firing the starting gun at this year's London Marathon from 09:05 BST. Despite the predicted wind and rain, runners are targeting over 80 Guinness World Records - including Sir Mo Farah, aiming to break his own British record. The area around Tower Hill is a good location to spot runners, however the London Marathon organisers warned that it will be extremely busy. Organisers recommended walking up to Bank station to hop on the Docklands Light Railway and catch up with the race a few miles further along the route. Miles 14 to 21 Participants will have just crossed the halfway point as they head out east towards Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs Event director Hugh Brasher said: &q
